Holistic Golf Remedial Training

A). Over 75% Straight, others 80%  Slices     110-120

A slice is a shot that starts, to the left of the target and changes its mind halfway and finishes way over to the right.

Your options

  • Get lessons from a golf pro regarding slice
  • Golf driving range-If you have been playing for the better part of 18-24 months, work on your preshot alignment, lay a golf club and get both toes behind the club, which is pointing in the direction of the target area.
  • Slow your swing down so that your swing and your hands are in sync, your not turning to fast and have weak hands.
  • Another way to go is the opposite of your slice. Start with a normal address and then turn your back to the target area, you should be now perpendicular to target line. This will work your hands more and give you a right to left shot X20 then do normal shots.
  • Work with all your irons and 3-5 wood, your slice has infected all your shots
  • Divided the balls up into 2 piles, e.g. if you have 50 balls split into a 40-10 pile
  • 4 golf swing (normal), 1 with full preshot routine.
  • At home, if you have the space use the same set up, preshot routine, foot aliment,
  • To make any change to your score, you need to be training minimum 3 times per week, 1 at the driving range and 2 at home.
  •  Putting – this is a must when ever your at the driving range, practice from 1 club length, when you have mastered this you will only need 2 putts, so the 1st putt bring as close as possible to the 1 club length from the flag.
  • At home work on you’re putting in between your movie or whatever, fit in a putting, of at least 5-6 shots, do this every time there is a commercial break and your laughing.

Fitness

Your options

  • Go to the gym and get professional help with your fitness training
  • Stay focused when going to the gym or training at home,
  • The abdominals and the lower back are of utmost importance, the sit-ups and the back extensions.
  • For you to enjoy your golf, you must have strong abdominals & lower back and good aerobic capacity.
  • Strong abdominals- nothing beats the crunch, start of with the basic one arms by your side, knees folded and the sole of both feet firmly on the floor. Lift your shoulder blades off the floor. X10, take a break and do 5 sets of thisX10
  • Next work on your oblique – lift the sole of the right foot and place on your left knee. Your right arm is resting on your abdominals and your left hand, with fingers bunched, next to you left ear and not holding your head. Bring your left elbow to your right knee. X 10 and repeat on the other side with the left sole on your right knee. Do the left and right side X3

Golf Training On Your Own-Part 2

When working to improve your golf, without anyone to help you, where do you start??
This is why I must stress the use of golf stats.
Done correctly, it will highlight the ares that you need to work on.
No matter how good your golf game is, you can never do enough putting practice.
Get your hands on an old carpet, that is at least 5 club lengths long and a coffee mug and you have your home putting practice range,
I have both a right hand and a left handed putter and play against the other, waiting to get my hands on a broomstick, just to add fun to it.
So thats your putting training taken care off, lets look at some ways to make the practice more enjoyable, when practicing.
If I look at the stats and I see that my 7 iron, is a bit wayward sometimes,
I will use a 5 iron, 7 iron, 9 iron, 7 iron, pitch, 7 iron type club sequence,
so that the 7 iron gets a good work out, not at the expense of the other clubs.

Golf Training On Your Own

The number of golf training aids that are available today, are just amazing. Depending on how deep your pocket is, you can get anything from a putting mat to a golf driver linked to your tv to show how far your 3 wood went. All those training aids are not going to improve your golf game, if you don’t use them.

Today will just look at the issue of scheduling, because getting to lower you score to single figures, you will have to improve in all areas of your golf game,
1st- golf stats- collect you last 4 golf games and fill in our golf stats, this will give you an overall picture of where your game is at. From here then you will know what to do next.
2. how much time can you set aside for golf driving range training??
3. Your min- max times available during the day that you can use to putt or read greens.
4 Anything else that will improve your game.

EXAMPLE
1. filled in my golf stats.
2. can make it to the golf driving range 2 per week
3. during the day I will put aside 4 X 8 minutes break to practice my putting, golf streaming or reading greens.
4. save up to buy a practice met
